select.

A rectangular area
Choose the Rectangular Selection tool from
the toolbox. Drag in the document window to
select an area.
A square area
Choose the Rectangular Selection tool from
the toolbox. While dragging the selection in the
document window, hold down the Shift key.
To make a freehand selection

Choose Window Layers.
2 In the Layers panel, do one of the following:
• Click a layer.
• Click a layer group.
• Hold down Command + Shift (Mac OS) or Ctrl + Shift (Windows), and click each layer you want to
select.
3 Perform a task from the following table.
