Layers 527
To commit a reference layer
•In the Layers panel, right-click a reference layer, and click Convert To Default
Layer.
The conversion process might take a few seconds, depending on the size and
quality of the layer.
Storing layers as images in the Image Portfolio
The Image Portfolio is a convenient place to store layers as images so you can use them
again.
You can create your own Image Portfolio libraries to organize images by category.
When you’re creating a library, keep in mind that the smaller the library, the easier it
will be to see its contents at a glance.
You can also move items between Image Portfolio libraries. For more information, see
“Working with libraries” on page 45.
To display the Image Portfolio panel
• Choose Window Media Library Panels Images.
Resize a reference layer in more than one
direction at once
Drag a corner handle. If you want to
maintain the layer proportions, hold down
Shift as you drag. The pointer changes when
you position it over a corner handle .
Rotate a reference layer Hold down Command (Mac OS) or Ctrl
(Windows), and drag a corner handle. The
pointer changes when you position it over a
corner handle .
Skew a reference layer Hold down Command (Mac OS) or Ctrl
(Windows), and drag a side handle. The
pointer changes when you position it over a
side handle .
